I was not looking for any particular things, but I ramdomly went to Barney's in Ginza. It was over priced and was out of my budget so I went to look Japanese brand store like Kaon, I saw couple of store associates. I had tops and pants in my hands, and I wanted to know if they had other color or sizes for tops, but even though the store associates looked not too busy but they never approached me! In the end, I had to go to the counter and ask them. The person who dealt with me was very nice but most people were not agressive. If you do not like to be followed around, that would be ok, but when you have something to ask, you will be at loss so that was sad.

I bought 10 handkerchiefs in towel material with an alphabet embroidery as a little gift for my friends at our wedding. They were in beautiful turquoise colour and felt nice and embroideries looked pretty, I liked them instantly.
The staff put them in small Black BARNEYS' bags with handles one by one, and stuck small stickers on them to show which alphabet embroidery's was in.
The bags were placed on each table on the big day.
My friends liked using them and I was pleased to buy them from BARNEYS. I want to go there again to buy same one for myself next time.

I like this shop for a long time and I remember it was a big topic when the long-established American department store came to Japan for the first time during the bubble period.
The shop assistants' and store's atmosphere looked like a bit old fashioned (because many new stores have been opened since) but it's a highly prestigious and luxurious department store with the long-established atmosphere.
When I bought a pair of dress shoes, the staff politely told me everything from fitting to styling and they became one of my favourite shoes.

I bought a bag with studs all around.
This is the second time to buy at this shop...The bag I purchased last time was worn out so bought another one.
The shop assistants at BARNEYS New York are never too pushy and I can shop comfortably as they recommend items, keeping the suitable distance between us. Because the price was also reasonable, I want to think about getting another bag in a different colour or size next time.
